IRONWOOD: Main Cast

Happy Friday! I’ve been teasing the reveal of some new characters on social media, and, well, here they are. They’re still a little rough around the edges, but I just couldn’t wait to share them with you.

Ironwood is an animated series I want to produce someday. If you’re a longtime reader, you might recognize a couple of these guys from concept art that I have worked on since mid-2015. Well, you can ignore all that now. I’ve revised the character designs and settled on a style that I feel is distinct, appealing, and simple enough for animation.

Here’s the main cast: Christie, Ted, Tommy, Vincent, Indigo, Liberty, and Guzman. These seven characters are caught up in a thrilling drama set in the town of Ironwood, Nevada. I hope to tell a realistic story that audiences can relate to, while exploring themes of hope and redemption. There’ll be plenty of action too!

More on this project as it develops!

Life changes. (The full-color version is here; I left the first two panels for symbolism’s sake.)

Obviously, a lot has changed in the year since I first drew this. Oh, not on the website really, just in my own life. I can’t promise when then next comic will be, but I can promise it, uh, will be. Until then, check out my other stuff!

FANART: Iron Aran

I guess this specific character, a combination of Tony Stark/Iron Man and Samus Aran, arrived at just the right time. I started creating her and similar mashup characters on a hunch after seeing Avengers: Age of Ultron, and I’ve finished her art just as Nintendo wraps us its E3 Digital Event and Treehouse Live presentation!

Even more surprising is the fact that a new Metroid game is in the works for the 3DS… but, unfortunately, it’s not at all what I was expecting. I’m happy to know it’s not just a 3-on-3 Blast Ball game (which was first shown at the Nintendo World Championships 2015), but I’m also getting a bit impatient. I mean, come on. The fans are ready. The Wii U is ready. Reggie’s body is ready. Give us Metroid Prime 4 already! (That, and Zelda Wii U.)
