Life changes. (The full-color version is on its way.)
It’s true; my family’s relocating to the state of Utah, and the trailer leaves this Monday. This is the main reason for the extended six-month comic hiatus and unexpected three-month sketch hiatus the site recently experienced. Had my junior year started as I’d hoped, I might have had more new content for you guys to enjoy. But being burdened by the new cross country season, difficult classes, and (especially) the move took its toll on me, and I wasn’t able to get anything done until fairly recently.
Unfortunately, ending my career at SHS also means turning in my nifty school-issued laptop/tablet–this time for good. That doesn’t mean the end of the strip, though. While you should expect another (short) hiatus while I’m finding and purchasing my next drawing tablet, I still have plans for “Shenanigans: A Life”, and Dustlander Productions isn’t going anywhere.
I can’t thank all of you readers enough for the support you’ve given me over the years. I don’t have much to show for it, but making these few webcomics has really changed me. Here’s to many more years of cartoony goodness. Oh, and check out my Patreon.
This is my real name.
The gallery view really helps here.
What!? A copyrighted character on an otherwise completely original blog? Wait… TWO?! (And am I supposed to get permission to use their likenesses?)
That’s right, folks! I don’t limit myself to only my own creative properties. That would be exhausting. Instead, once in a while, I carefully and accurately combine characters from Marvel Comics and Nintendo, respectively. Which ends up being just as exhausting, as it turns out.
I guess this specific character, a combination of Tony Stark/Iron Man and Samus Aran, arrived at just the right time. I started creating her and similar mashup characters on a hunch after seeing Avengers: Age of Ultron, and I’ve finished her art just as Nintendo wraps us its E3 Digital Event and Treehouse Live presentation!
Even more surprising is the fact that a new Metroid game is in the works for the 3DS… but, unfortunately, it’s not at all what I was expecting. I’m happy to know it’s not just a 3-on-3 Blast Ball game (which was first shown at the Nintendo World Championships 2015), but I’m also getting a bit impatient. I mean, come on. The fans are ready. The Wii U is ready. Reggie’s body is ready. Give us Metroid Prime 4 already!
That, and Zelda Wii U. But before I go off on another Nintendo tangent, I have an announcement to make: Tomorrow is going to be a big day for Shenanigans. Some will laugh, some will cry, but in the end it’s going to be inevitable. Be sure to tune into the strip up on the top of the blog or on Tapastic tomorrow for the big news!
